Double-booking is impossible
A Postgres exclusion constraint rejects any overlapping confirmed booking. The second request gets a clean refusal, even under a race.
Self-serve reschedule and cancel
Every confirmation carries signed links: bookers move or drop a meeting themselves, with no account and no email to you.
Every booking page is backed by the same availability engine as the rest of the product, so there is no drift between what the page offers and what you are actually free for.
